This Ana Vintage Handwoven Turkish Rug is a statement piece. Hand-woven in Central Anatolia region of Turkey circa 1950. This Turkish rug will look stunning as a doormat, bathmat or kitchen accent. Professionally cleaned and ready to display.

This item is vintage and handwoven with normal wear related to its age. Imperfect lines and fibers add one-of-a-kind character and confirm that this piece was handmade.

Rug History

Authentic Turkish Rugs are traditionally hand-loomed using the Turkish Double Knot often using hand-dyed wool and or cotton.

Historically, Turkish rug motifs are intended to tell a story through symbolism. For example, the bird is the symbol of happiness, joy, and love. The use of the eagle, falcon and hawk denotes power and strength.

For knotted rugs like this one, the denser the knots, the finer the rug and skill to make it. Variations in color is an indication of hand-dyed wool, and often indicative of vegetable dyes.
